Umbrella Crunch

I had so much fun with this piece that begins with a nasty, dirty, growling, slide on the lower E string. I felt the contrast of the driving introduction combined wonderfully with the sweet chords that follow. There are so many melodic transitions that I hear in my brain that could always be added later, but for now it is short and sweet.

I enjoy art that can be experienced completely and immediately. That is why I love 45-60 second musical pieces and short stories.

This instrumental was used for the video called, “The Photo Shoot” for the Why Mom Deserves a Diamond writing contest.

  1. Hi Mike. I like your music but ipods and other such download tools are way out of range for an oldie like me. But thanks for following my site. I’ll have to share you with my grandies!

  2. Thanks for the follow. I like the song. Had a dream of an opening paragraph for a short story, it was perfect. Keeping pen and pad at bedside, I wrote it down. Next morning I read what I had written….Nothing but scribbles.

  3. I love music… (except yodeling~I just can’t quite get that) I’ve never been without it really.
Either hearing it from my Dad playing in a band or from him playing it on the stereo,
late at night, complete with Mom fussing that she could clearly hear it
despite his being downstairs with ear phones on LOL
    I like this, I like it a lot. šŸ™‚

    1. Thank you so much! It’s exciting when someone appreciates my tunes, and even better when it reminds them of positive things. (Mom’s have super hearing, she probably could hear it from upstairs. :)) Thanks for listening!

    1. A very belated thank you, FlapJack. There is no deep meaning here. I heard the heavy guitar intro in a dream the night before and recorded it the next day. Iā€™m glad you like it.
