The Power of Your Smile

Did you know you can change your world simply with your smile?   It’s almost impossible to be in a bad mood or hold a grudge if you do this.  Great luck, opportunities and friends become attracted to you.

Why is this an ancient secret? It is because most people do not understand the awesomeness of this power.  In fact, everything you think with conviction becomes true. A smile, when used with sincerity and from the depths of our hearts, is one of the most powerful human tools we possess.

As you read this, think of a wonderful memory from your past.  We’re you with your family or friends?  No matter where you are or whom you are with, the value of your smile is at your disposal.  We are basically the masters of our feelings and destinies.  Think of a funny moment or one that created much joy inside of you. How do you feel?   Would you like to re-create that moment?

Now replicate this wonderful feeling with your heart.  Smile big and feel your eyes begin to glow.   Do not mechanically lift your lip muscles on each side of your face. Hold your wonderful memory in your mind.  Smile with emotion.

The comforting feeling one receives when smiling is not an illusion.  In fact, you have slightly altered the universe.  Every thing we do or thought we think changes not only us but also everything around us.  Can you honestly be mad at someone when you are smiling with love and compassion?   Can anyone be mad at you when he or she senses that you appear as a caring and understanding person?

I have seen little long-term benefit in negative emotions, such as fear or anger.  These emotions may cause immediate changes in one’s life and in those surrounding them.  However, I can personally attest that love, appreciation, and understanding have much more powerful and long-term benefit.

Thank you mom, for smiling and embracing me when I needed direction.  Thank you for your humor, for your positive attitude, and for instilling your qualities in me.  I remember your smile, and you live inside me wherever I go.

Do you have someone that makes you smile?  Has it transformed your world and reality for the better? If so, I am very happy, and I ask the reader to go forth armed with this knowledge and power. Change yourself first, then change the world one heart at a time.

  2. a very noble feeling and a real one that is so precious,
spreading smile thru words..can be done only by the ones who have the real fervour…

  3. It’s not only in smiling, but in laughing as well. πŸ™‚ I watched a documentary where the Inuit people actually manage to survive cold temperatures by laughing. They have “laughing games,” where you’re actually SUPPOSED to laugh to win. According to the documentary, this is one of the secrets why the Inuit people have lived long lives and are generally healthy in the midst of incredibly cold winters. It is true, happiness, smiles and laughter make a lot of difference in your life. πŸ˜€

  4. Lovely sentiment and something I don’t always think about. I’ve been told I have a beautiful smile, but every genuine smile is beautiful! I promise to pause next time I am upset or depressed, and think about my wonderful grandson and the joy he brings me. He always makes me smile.

  5. Great post! you’re so right, and as Ghandi said “be the change that you wish to see in the world”. Smiles to you πŸ™‚

  6. I’m so blessed to have a husband who wakes up every morning with a smile on his face. It is contagious. I smile as much as possible, especially at cute little old ladies, it really makes their day πŸ™‚
