How to Master the Art of Serenity

Do you want to master the art of inner peace? I discovered this quite by accident, for I was not searching for an ancient secret. Sometimes life’s revelations are unveiled when we least expect it. I am so glad I was aware of those precious moments of introspection and stored it somewhere in my brain.

The important ingredient for one’s destiny and inner feelings are your very thoughts.

It is the thoughts that float in your head that determine your happiness, well-being, and the destiny of all things.

When you first open you eyes in the morning, what do you think? Do you try to make sense of the crazy dream you just woke from? Do you contemplate the problems that were unsolved the day before? When I wake, I know great things will happen. It is more than just pretending or positive thinking, because I am confident wonderful things will unfold in front of me.

Everyone can recall a wonderful memory. Can you remember when you were the only one in class that was praised for the correct answer, when someone gave you a sincere compliment, or when you were warmly hugged? How did that make you feel? How do you feel right now as you recall that memory?

Feelings of anxiety and fear cannot be completely eliminated, and have probably helped us survive our long journey of evolution. It is, after all, fear that has stopped us from jumping off a cliff or walking into an on-coming vehicle. Fear and anxiety, however, also prevent us from experiencing the richness of what we call living. Thoughts of love, on the other hand, inspire us, encourage us, and even heal us.

If you desire more peace, find a moment of quiet and know that someone loves you. Even if that person has passed away, their love has never ceased, but remains inside you. Do you agree? Your memory of that love becomes the present.

Only when we know we are loved can we learn to love ourselves. When we love ourselves, it is easy to love others. When we love others, our world becomes our beautiful home.
